Recently, areas such as Rongjiang County in Qiandongnan Prefecture have been affected by flood disasters, causing damage to the lives and production of the local population and making the situation for disaster relief urgent. In response to this severe disaster, the Tongren Charity Federation quickly responded and took proactive measures. They actively mobilized charitable organizations, social groups, and caring enterprises within Tongren to engage in a "two-way effort," focusing on material aid, rescue operations, and volunteer services. Their aim was to deliver the "warmth of Tongren" to the disaster-stricken people in places like Rongjiang County and to gather a united force for disaster relief. Currently, various sectors of society in Tongren have donated a total of 215,600 yuan in funds and materials and dispatched 10 public welfare and charity rescue teams.
The disaster is a command, and supplies mean hope. The Tongren Charity Federation immediately mobilized social forces upon the outbreak of the flood, focusing on the most urgent needs of the affected communities and efficiently raising essential relief supplies.
Sinan County took the lead in collaborating with caring enterprises, urgently dispatching 1,300 cases of sour-and-spicy potato vermicelli (worth 78,000 yuan) to the frontlines of the disaster area.
The Internet Professionals Association of Tongren organized member companies to donate daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil, flour, yellow rice cake, bottled water, masks, and raincoats. The total value of these supplies reached 99,180 yuan, and they have already been transported to Zaima Town in Rongjiang County.
Other loving enterprises, including Guizhou Nianxiangren, Ailian Nanny, Qianxiang Sisters, Jiangling Dental Clinic, and Quandu Mineral Water, also contributed supplies to support Rongjiang.
In addition, other social organizations in Tongren donated 22,890 yuan, contributing practical support to the disaster-stricken areas through concrete actions.
On the frontlines of the disaster relief efforts, multiple professional rescue teams from Tongren City raced against time and headed toward the hardest-hit areas. The city's Blue Sky Rescue Team, along with Blue Sky teams from Songtao, Yuping, Jiangkou, Sinan, Shiqian, and Yanhe, as well as the Lanbao Rescue Center and the Wanshan District Lanbao Rescue Team, were deployed in multiple directions to Rongjiang, Leishan, and other severely affected regions to carry out emergency rescue operations such as evacuating residents and inspecting potential hazards.
The Jiangkou County Red Cross Blue Sky Rescue Team, consisting of seven members, worked nonstop for 20 hours and successfully evacuated more than 200 residents using speedboats and life ropes. They carried the hope of survival on their shoulders.
The Sinan County Blue Sky Rescue Team demonstrated remarkable perseverance by continuously carrying out rescue missions and, in total, evacuating 526 residents — becoming the most reliable "ferrymen" amid the floodwaters.
Beyond material aid and rescue operations, volunteer teams from Tongren City are also providing targeted support to help disaster-affected communities cope with hardship.
The Tongren Sunshine Volunteers Association quickly dispatched four core members to Congjiang County to assess the disaster situation on the ground. At the same time, they are preparing supplies such as rice, cooking oil, and relief kits, planning to distribute them promptly based on follow-up needs.
The Sinan County Youth Volunteers Association has focused on the needs of vulnerable groups, donating 1,000 bottles of disinfectant and 100 pairs of waterproof boots — showing care through thoughtful, practical details.
Though floods are merciless, humanity remains compassionate. From material donations to frontline rescue efforts, from financial support to volunteer assistance, all sectors of society in Tongren have demonstrated a sense of responsibility by acting swiftly upon hearing of the flood emergency, and have shown deep solidarity by standing together with those affected through wind and rain. They have created a "warm and hopeful sky" for the disaster-stricken communities in places like Rongjiang.
