On June 27, the "Cloud Donation of Books" event was held at Kushui School in Kushui Town, Yongdeng County. The Yongdeng County Civil Affairs Bureau, the Village Committee of Kushui Village in Kushui Town, the "Cloud Donation of Books" event team, Lanzhou Life Wings Social Work Service Center, Lanzhou Jintian Automobile Rental Co., Ltd., and the Lanzhou Jintian Lei Feng Car Service Team jointly organized the reading and intellectual development themed activity titled "Reading Accompanies Growth · Loving Hearts Warm Children's Hearts," delivering 1,000 books to the children and passing on warmth and care.
"Following the Lanzhou Evening News in doing public welfare provides us with a real platform to show our love and care. It feels especially fulfilling to be able to do something for these children," said Captain Li Cheng.
In April 2025, during Lanzhou's "Cloud Tree Planting" volunteer service event, taxi drivers from Lanzhou Jintian Automobile Rental Co., Ltd. and the Lanzhou Jintian Lei Feng Car Service Team worked hard to plant trees and bring greenery to the city. This summer, they once again joined the "Cloud Donation of Books" campaign with great enthusiasm. During the event, more than 150 books were donated by all employees of Lanzhou Jintian Automobile Rental Co., Ltd.
"We are very pleased to cooperate with Lanzhou Evening News, a major city media outlet, which has provided our public welfare activities with a broader platform and a far-reaching impact," said Cui Tengfei, business manager of the company.
At the donation ceremony, books that carry the vastness of the world were handed over to the students. Many children, holding books they liked, stood on the playground or squatted on the outdoor steps and began to read attentively. While flipping through these lovingly donated books, the students also received heartfelt messages from their peers in urban schools. "I received this book from the students of Fuli East Road Experimental School in Xigu District. Thank you for your love, I really like it," said Ma Jiale, a second-grade student, holding a copy of "The Magic School Bus" with a big smile.
"This donation of lovingly contributed books has greatly enriched our school's book resources and addressed the urgent need of children to 'read good books and read new books.' We will definitely manage and make good use of these books, allowing the gentle fragrance of books to nourish young hearts, inspire wisdom, and guide children to draw strength from reading — encouraging them to grow into capable and virtuous individuals," said the head of Kushui School in Yongdeng County's Kushui Town.
The head of the Kushui Village Committee in Yongdeng County's Kushui Town stated that in the future, this project will continue to integrate social resources and carry out more public welfare activities focused on the growth of minors, providing strong support for children's healthy development.
