On July 3rd, the South China Morning Post website cited statements from Siemens, Synopsys, and ECAD ASIA LIMITED, indicating that the U.S. government has lifted some restrictions on the export of certain chip design software to China.
These three leading global developers of electronic design automation (EDA) software stated that their relevant products can now be exported to China without requiring special approval.
Morgan Stanley noted in May that these three companies collectively held approximately 82% of China's EDA software market last year. EDA tools are core software for chip manufacturers in the design of semiconductors, which are widely used in areas such as smartphones, computers, automobiles, and more.
