According to the Ministry of Education's website, the ministry is accelerating the implementation of the "Double Thousand" Plan for Employment Capacity Improvement. This initiative targets graduates from majors with relatively limited social demand, aiming to help them optimize their knowledge and skill structures, and precisely meet enterprises' demand for compound talents.
Currently, the National Smart Education Platform has selected 138 top-tier courses and 1,455 high-quality teaching resources, including applied skills-based "micro-programs," across 33 practical and urgently needed disciplines. Focusing on 60 key directions within 12 fields of urgent demand, such as artificial intelligence and low-altitude economy, the platform is developing micro-programs and vocational skills training courses. Across universities nationwide, a total of 2,654 micro-programs have been established for the class of 2025 graduates, with approximately 74,000 students enrolled.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education launched the "Double Thousand" Plan, aiming to establish 1,000 "micro-programs" (or clusters of specialized courses) and 1,000 vocational skills training courses nationwide. This initiative is designed to help college students identify their career paths and better align their skills with market demands.
