Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 8 - On January 8, it was reported from China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) that CRCC Bridge Bureau's Jingjiang Heavy Industry Company has successfully developed and manufactured the "Canglong" 1250-ton tire-mounted beam transporter. This model of beam transporter is capable of meeting the handling requirements for "mega" box girders that are 60 meters long and weigh 1700 tons, serving the construction needs of domestic high-speed rail projects and other similar undertakings.
According to the researchers at China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) Bridge Bureau's Jingjiang Heavy Industry Company, with the rapid development of high-speed rail technology in China, traditional 32-meter and 40-meter long box girders can no longer meet the requirements for constructing long-span and sea-crossing bridges. To reduce the resonance points at pier connections, lower the resistance and vibration during train operations, and enhance the overall stability and safety of bridges, the design span of railway box girders needs to be increased to 60 meters or even longer.
The girder transporter weighs approximately 830 tons per unit, has a clear lifting height of 23 meters, and is equipped with 88 large inflated tires. It boasts a strong load-bearing capacity, with a single-unit lifting capability of 1250 tons, and its maximum travel speed under heavy load is 17 meters per minute.
